Saliha Boumaza

Saliha Boumaza is the Executive Director, Clinical Research at Merck. She has a thorough clinical research experience of over 25 years.

Saliha thrives on developing connections everywhere she goes.  Born and educated in France, but a citizen of the world from the onset, Saliha decided to spend some time in Canada to acquire international experience. Eighteen years later, she still lives in Canada and has grown her international network exponentially.

Originally motivated to enter the healthcare sector by her desire to improve the lives of patients and their families, Saliha earned her PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at the University Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris. She quickly determined that clinical research is where she could have the most impact on people’s lives and launched her long career in the field as a clinical research associate. Now the Executive Director of Global Clinical Trial Operations for Merck Canada, Saliha is proud to be part of an international network of experts across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific, all learning from each other and working towards the same objective of harnessing innovation to create a better world.

This deep connection with the world percolates in Saliha’s personal life, as she is always planning the next adventure with her family and thus continue to discover new perspectives and further enhance her appreciation for diverse cultures.
