Philippe Houle

Executive Director and Vice-President, Provincial Policy and Government Affairs

Helping people, health and well-being have always been at the heart of everything Philippe Houle does. After earning a B.Sc. in Kinesiology, Philippe started his career in injury prevention, fitness and rehabilitation, thus beginning his journey along the healthcare continuum.

His passion for health and prevention led him to consider the pharmaceutical industry as an opportunity to continue making a difference in people’s lives. Starting as a sales representative, Philippe also worked in marketing and communication, as well as several different therapeutic areas, before leading high performing teams in the Vaccines and Pharma business units as Executive Director. After over 20 years in the industry, 14 of them at Merck Canada, Philippe is now the Executive Director and Vice-President, Provincial Policy and Government Affairs and as such has the privilege to lead a team of policy experts and collaborate with teams across the subsidiary to ensure Canadians have access to the vaccines and medicines they need, now and tomorrow.

When it comes to health, Philippe certainly walks the talk: during his free time, he keeps busy with high octane activities such as CrossFit, alpine skiing and, most importantly, running after his three energetic children.
