Are You At Risk?

There are certain conditions or situations that increase one’s likelihood of developing glaucoma. These are commonly referred to as risk factors and include the following:

  • Advanced age
  • High blood pressure
  • Family history of glaucoma
  • Diabetes
  • Near-sightedness (myopia)

If you are concerned that you may be at risk for glaucoma, please consult your physician.

If you or someone you care about has glaucoma, you can help prevent further damage from the disease by following these steps:

  • Routine eye examinations
  • Compliance with the recommended medical regime
  • Maintenance of good general health
